WEDDINGS AND RECEPTIONS 

With year-round blooms encompassing over 65 acres, Bellingrath Gardens and Home is the perfect setting for weddings and/or receptions.  Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate garden events during our busiest seasons.  The Gardens are available for rental from May 1 through October 31, Bellingrath Gardens and Home sets a peaceful and elegant background for your special day.  We ask your event begin no later than 2 p.m. since the Gardens entrance closes at 5 p.m. 

Bridal Coordinator
While Bellingrath Gardens and Home is pleased to provide you with a perfect setting for your wedding or reception, we do ask you provide your own bridal coordinator. 

Shuttle Service
Shuttle service is available to wedding/reception participants and guests free of charge until 5 p.m.  When confirming your date, please specify whether you will take advantage of this service. 

Outdoor Sites

One of two outdoor sites may be selected for your ceremony.  The price is $1,000 with up to 100 Gardens Admissions.  Additional guests admission tickets are $5 each, while children under the age of 5 are admitted free of charge.

• South Terrace:  This overlooks the Fowl River and accommodates up to 200 people.
• The Great Lawn:  This area is the largest open area at Bellingrath and easily accommodates 500 guests. 

Indoor Sites

The intimate chapel is located at the south end of the Delchamps Gallery of Boehm Porcelain and has 6 pews with a seating capacity of 24.  The cost for rental is $600, which includes 30 Gardens admissions.  Additional guests admission tickets are $5 each.   

Bridal Accommodations

Bellingrath brides have use of a private dressing area on the date of the wedding.  This room is located on the lower level of the Bellingrath Home adjoining the East Terrace.  This room is available from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.  Large public restrooms in the adjoining Boehm Gallery have extended hours and may be used by the groom, his groomsmen and ushers.

Receptions

Large receptions (over 100) are held on the Great Lawn.  Tents, dance floors, tables, electric fans, etc. may be arranged by calling Port City Rental of Mobile at 251.471.5484.  Smaller receptions may use adjoining East and/or North terraces on the riverfront of the Bellingrath Home.  These terraces cannot be fully tented.  The cost for use of the site with a wedding is $500.  The cost for use for reception only (wedding offsite) is $1,000.

Catering at Bellingrath Gardens is exclusively handled by Naman’s Catering of Mobile (251.473.3900).  Please contact them directly with questions regarding menus and pricing.  All food and drinks must be handled by our caterer.

Admissions
Based on your selected wedding package, a standard number of Gardens admission tickets will be included in the rental price.  Any additional admission tickets must be pre-purchased.  Any unused tickets are non-refundable and valid only for the day of your event.

We ask that you select someone to be stationed in our Entrance Building to greet your guests and to distribute Gardens admission tickets. A small table in the Entrance Building may be used for this purpose.  A guest list is recommended for the person stationed at the Entrance Building.

Photography

Included in the price of wedding rental, Bellingrath brides and their photographer may schedule a photography session in advance of her ceremony for no charge.   Non-Bellingrath Brides are subject to a $200 fee for this service.  Arrangements for Gardens admission and photography sessions may be made by calling 251.973.2217 extension 135.

Rehearsals

There is no additional fee for a rehearsal.  However, we do need advance notice on the time and number of Gardens passes needed.  Please confirm with Port City Rental on the delivery of chairs and tables for rehearsals.  Since the Entrance building closes daily at 5 p.m., rehearsal events must start well in advance of closing.  Guests may remain within the Gardens until dusk.

Accessories

Accessories and rentals are handled exclusively with Port City Rental of Mobile.  Brides should contact Port City Rental in Mobile (251.471.5484) for information regarding rental items needed for the event.  Port City has a wide variety of chairs, tables, linens, tents, electric fans and other items to make your ceremony and reception complete.  Port City will deliver and remove all items.

Please call us at (251) 973-2217 ext 135.  A Gardens pass must be pre-arranged by calling in advance.  The Gardens are open seven days a week, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.  Personnel are available by appointment Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Reserving a Date

A 50% deposit is required to hold an available date with the balance paid one month prior to the date of the event.  Checks should be made payable to Bellingrath Gardens and Home and made attention to Weddings and Receptions.
