Weddings & Receptions
Bellingrath Gardens is available for daytime Saturday weddings and/or receptions from May 1 through October 30. All events must start no later that 2:00 PM. The garden entrance closes daily at 5:00 PM with the grounds open until dusk. Shuttle services are available until 5:00 PM. We are happy to provide you with a perfect setting but we do ask you provide your own bridal coordinator.
Wedding & Reception Information
The Magnolia Room at Bellingrath Gardens and Home is available for rental daily from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. and until 9 p.m. during Magic Christmas in Lights. Perfect for company meetings, bridal showers, family reunions, birthday parties and other events, the Magnolia Room is over 1,200 square feet with a maximum occupancy of 100 people.

Bellingrath Gardens and Home is pleased to offer educational programs and self-guided workshops for field trips and groups of students. Our facility has excellent resources for teaching plant sciences, ecosystems, wetlands and conservation. We have designed our curriculum to help meet state and local standards for teaching students as they are actively engaged in learning experiences in the Gardens.

Professional Photography Policy
Bellingrath Gardens and Home allows professional and commercial photography for a $350.00 fee per day.
The photography fee and advanced booking is required for the following circumstances:
• Photography/video involving props, changes of clothing, or more equipment than a tripod and standard flash.
• Photos/video that will be used in print, radio, television or film, posted on the Web, used in print art for sale, used to advertise goods and services, or otherwise published.
• Wedding, family portraits, engagement, prom, graduation, Mardi gras, model, professional and commercial photography/video.
The fee includes Gardens entrance for the photographer and up to four (4) additional participants. Additional guests will be subject to regular Garden admission and must be identified when the reservation is made.
Photo sessions must be approved and scheduled at least 5 business days in advance of the intended date. The Gardens is not able to accommodate drop-in photo sessions. The Gardens is able to accommodate photo shoots during normal hours of operation. The Gardens are open year-round, closing only on Christmas Day. Hours of operation are 8am to 5pm from New Year’s Day through Thanksgiving Day. Extended hours from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve during Magic Christmas in Lights are 8am until 9pm.
Bellingrath Gardens and Home reserves the right to refuse admittance for photography and/or change its photography policy without advance notice.
The Gardens close daily at dusk. We reserve the right to limit groups arriving within one hour of this closing time. Photography in evening hours during Magic Christmas in Lights is subject for denial due to congestion.
Walking in or through flowerbeds, plant displays or mulched areas is prohibited. Photographers and guests alike must remain on pathways and grassy turf at all times. Clothing, backdrops or other props are not to be hung from plants or trees. Disturbance of plants, plant labels or containers, in addition to trespassing on restricted areas, are grounds for removal from the Gardens and forfeiting the $350.00 commercial photography fee. Photographers will be held liable for any damages to Garden property by themselves or their photo subjects.
Vehicles may load and unload passengers and equipment in front of the admissions building only. Loading and unloading may be done in special designated areas only if accompanied by a Bellingrath employee.
Remember: Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a public place where visitors and guests are welcome in all public areas and that regular business continues during normal operating hours. Please be courteous to other guests and do not block pathways, entrances or garden areas that are in use by others.
Bellingrath brides and her photographer are welcome to schedule a photo session in advance to the ceremony at no additional fee. Non-Bellingrath brides are subject to the commercial photography fee of $350.00. This fee includes Gardens entrance for the bride, her photographer and three (3) additional participants. Participants of wedding ceremonies, receptions or other special occasions scheduled at the Gardens are welcome to have their photograph taken during their rental time at no additional cost. Bellingrath Gardens and Home recommends visiting the Gardens in advance at your leisure to scout ideal locations for your photography session.
Public restrooms are available throughout the Gardens for clothing changes. They are located in the Entrance building, Gift Shop and Boehm Gallery. Restrooms in the Entrance Building and Gift Shop close at 5pm, except during Magic Christmas in Lights when they close at 9pm.
To avoid congestion in the Entrance Building or Gift Shop at the time of arrival, Bellingrath Gardens and Home asks parties meet in front of the Entrance Building or in the Auditorium (if unoccupied). Reservations may be made for the Auditorium as a meeting place and changing area for a $75 fee.
Reserving a Date
Photographers may contact Bellingrath Gardens and Home at 251.973.2217 extension 163 or 800.247.8420 extension 163 to schedule a photography session. Reservations must be made at least five days in advance. The balance must be paid prior to the photo session. Checks should be made payable to Bellingrath Gardens and Home. Payment by credit card is available through reservations. In the event of cancellation within a 48 hours notice, a $25 cancellation fee is applied. One hundred percent is forfeited thereafter.
