Bellingrath Gardens and Home Is Helping Blue Bell Creamery Celebrate Its 100th Anniversary.

Theodore, AL – To celebrate its 100th year in business, Blue Bell Creamery is bringing its traveling anniversary exhibit to Bellingrath Gardens and Home and opening it to the public on December 7th and 8th.  The special exhibit is open from 1 - 8 PM and will feature imaginative multi-media presentations of the history of Blue Bell, how ice cream is made and a display of the current line up of Blue Bell Products.

On Thursday, December 6 at 5 PM, the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama will tour the Blue Bell exhibit and then tour Bellingrath’s Magic Christmas in Lights (MCIL). 

Every person that visits the Blue Bell exhibit will receive a free serving of Blue Bell’s famous Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream in a special 100th anniversary cup.  Visitors will also have a chance to purchase commemorative 100th anniversary merchandise.  Profits from the sale of the memorabilia and other Blue Bell merchandise will go to benefit South Alabama’s Boys and Girls Club.

According to Blue Bell Public Relations Manager Bill Weiss, “This is something that Blue Bell fans will not want to miss.  It will be a unique event in our lifetime – the official rolling birthday party of the best ice cream in the country.”

After touring the Blue Bell exhibit, guests are invited to tour Bellingrath Gardens and Home’s MCIL.  The Gardens are open for tours throughout the day beginning at 8 AM and remain open until 9:00 PM. MCIL opens at 5 PM.  Admission is $10 for adults, $5.50 for children 5 – 12 and children under 5 are free.
