BELLINGRATH ANNOUNCES SCARECROW CONTEST

Come celebrate the fall season and showcase your creative talents by entering the Fourth Annual Scarecrow Contest at Bellingrath Gardens and Home.   High schools, arts organizations, businesses, clubs and other organizations  are encouraged to create scarecrows to be entered in this year’s contest.  The “crows” will be displayed throughout Bellingrath Gardens during the annual Mum Festival.  The Scarecrow Exhibit will open at The Balloon Glow in the Gardens on October 27th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Scarecrow sponsoring organizations may distribute treats and trinkets to children during The Balloon Glow. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to publicize your organization or special event during one of Bellingrath’s busiest seasons.

Entry Forms are due in no later than October 5th. The scarecrows must be set up by 5:00 p.m. on October 26th.    Judging of the “crows” will take place on October 27th.   A $100 cash prize will be awarded for the funniest, most original, best organizational theme and best traditional scarecrows.  Awards will also be given to the winner of “The People’s Choice” and “The Director’s Choice”.  Each entering organization will receive 2 free passes and up to twenty 50% discount coupons that can be used from October 27- November 18th.
